These spindles were used to move glass inside a vacuum chamber. They have water cooling ports on the ends as shown The front flange is 6″ in diameter and has an o-ring groove. There doesn’t appear to be any sort of high vacuum feedthrough though these were used in very high vacuum chambers for sputtering (PVD process using aluminum targets). The bearings themselves may be providing enough of a seal. We are not entirely sure. The cooling ports extend about 90% of the length of the spindle. The dual radial bearings are made by Nachi and are 30mm x 60mm. These have a few stains and spots from storage and removal, but are otherwise in perfect functional shape. The bearings are tight and very smooth without rust or corrosion.
